Are you unsure of the right way to brew loose tea?
Follow these simple steps for the perfect brew.
We recommend using a Kyusu (Japanese teapot) for hot brewing but any other type of small teapot or tea infuser can be used.
We do not recommend using a tea ball or tea bag because these prevent the leaves from opening fully and releasing all their aromas.
For cold brewing, we recommend a glass bottle with an integrated filter, but any type of bottle will do.
Hot brew

Step 1
For IRO Premium Sencha, put two teaspoons of tea (4 to 6 g) in a teapot (for two persons).
For other types of tea (e.g. Genmaicha or Kukicha), follow the quantity and temperature instructions on the bag.

USEFUL TIPS
Be sure to remove the air and seal your tea bag after each use and store it in a cool, dry place to maximize freshness and health benefits.
For the best experience, consume your tea within one month of opening.
Given that tap water is often very hard in European countries, we recommend using filtered water to prepare your IRO Matcha tea. In fact, water quality has a strong effect on the flavour of tea.
To eliminate the taste of chlorine, given the chemical’s volatile nature, all you need to do is leave a jug of water in the fridge for twelve hours.
It is best to use a small teapot because Japanese tea is usually prepared in small quantities.
In Japan, the last drop of tea is considered the best, so make sure it goes to someone important, or treat yourself!
Caring for your accessories is very simple. After preparing your tea, simply rinse your teapot with warm water to remove all the tea leaves. Avoid the use of detergent.
If you need to wipe it down, wipe it with a soft cloth. Or simply let it air dry.
Cold brew

Step 1
For a cold brew (here with Sencha), use about 8 teaspoons of tea (10 to 15 grams) in 1 litre of cold water.
